Cover Photo Contest

Send us your best snapshots of Missouri farm life and enter this year's Missouri Livestock Symposium

Photos entered into the contest can be found on the Symposium's Flickr stream.

Entries are accepted until October 31, 2022.


Eligibility - The contest is open to amateur photographers in the state of Missouri. Photographers may submit up to three (3) entries. Entries must show some aspect of agriculture including farm life, farm scenes, and/or livestock.


Photographer affirms they are at least 18 years of age and competent to contract in their own name, or if younger than 18 years of age, confirm that their parent or guardian is submitting photographs on their behalf. Also, Photographer or their parent or guardian, has read the terms and conditions (see below) before submitting any photographs and fully understand the content, meaning, and impact of the terms and conditions.


How to enter:

  • Email photo(s) (jpg) to missourilivestock@gmail.com.
  • Include your name, complete address, phone, age, the title of the photo, and a little bit about your photo in the email.
  • All photos must be 8.5 x 11 inches and in portrait orientation. Photos must be 300 dpi.
  • By submitting a photo, the photographer has thus attached their electronic signature and is in agreement with the contest terms and conditions (see below).


Selection process - Missouri Livestock Symposium committee members will select the top photo from all photos correctly submitted by the deadline. The Missouri Livestock Symposium committee will request an original print of the winning photo (8.5 x 11, portrait orientation, 300 dpi). The winning photo will be recognized at the evening program of the Missouri Livestock Symposium on Friday, December 2, 2022.

Prizes - The winning photograph will appear on the cover of the Missouri Livestock Symposium program book. The winner will receive a $100 cash prize from the Missouri Livestock Symposium and a framed print of our program book cover with their winning photo.


General contest guidelines:

  • Missouri Livestock Symposium committee may request an original print of the winning photo (8.5 x 11, portrait orientation, minimum 300 dpi).
  • Photos must show farm scenes, farm life and/or livestock.
  • Photos must have been taken in Missouri since January 1, 2019, by the person submitting the image.
  • Limit of three entries per photographer.
  • Significant digital manipulation of photos is not allowed. Normal cropping, color correction, etc., are acceptable.
  • Missouri Livestock Symposium committee members and their immediate families are not eligible.
  • Photos entered in the contest may appear on the Missouri Livestock Symposium Website, Flickr page, Facebook page and/or in Symposium publications. The winning photograph will be displayed at the Missouri Livestock Symposium on December 2 & 3, 2022 in Kirksville, MO.
